Yellow and Green Lapstrake Boat
There are many lapstrake wooden boats tied up to the docks in Nova Scotia. Here is one that caught my eye. Lapstrake boats are boats where the edges of the hull planks overlap. The planks are also joined end to end into a strake.
I love doing batiks of reflections of boats. The fact that there is no sky in this painting to distract you, makes the colours of the boat more dynamic against the boulders of the dock.
