View from a Bench

A friend's sister commissioned me to do this view from a bench. Her husband had died a few years before, and she wanted a picture to remind her of something they did together. The two of them used to sit on a bench and look at this view of the beach and cliffs in South Wales.

Priory Park 100, Chichester

In 2018, I was commissioned to do a batik painting of Priory Park in Chichester to celebrate the Park's centenary. On September 30th, 1918, the 7th Duke of Richmond and Gordon generously gifted Priory Park to the people of Chichester. He gave it for the people's recreation and as a perpetual memorial to the Fallen in the First World War.

The Finney's House

The children of Helen Finney commissioned me to do a batik painting of her house in Chester. She sold the house in 2018 after it had been in the family as a holiday cottage for nearly a hundred years. The Finneys originally came from Baltimore, Maryland, USA.

Battling Dragunas

This was commission of the Dragunas (father and son) battling it out on their motorbikes in a Motor Scrambling race.

Whitbread Race 1989

A batik painting of the Southern Leg of the Round the World Whitbread sailing race in 1989. The batik was commissioned by one of the sailors in the picture.

Memories of Cumnor, 1969 - 2000.

In 2000, I was commissioned to create a huge batik painting showing life at Cumnor House School, Sussex, UK, during the years Nick Milner-Gulland was headmaster, 1969 - 2000. I taught at Cumnor and was Head of Art for 28 years. The batik includes many scenes of school life during those years. The original batik hangs in the entrance hall at Cumnor. Limited edition giclee prints were sold in aid of the Royal Marsden Hospital in London.
