Walking Home
A batik painting of three geese walking home.
I have always liked doing batiks of white birds, as I can build up the tones of the feathers. I waxed the feathers of the geese that I wanted to stay white. These waxed areas then resisted the subsequent washes of grey, yellow and green dyes which I applied for the geese and the background.
We used to keep geese and so I took many photographs of them for inspiration.
