In 2000, I accompanied the Cumnor House School 1st XI cricket team on their tour of Sri Lanka. During the month we were there, we visited the Elephant Orphanage at Pinnawela. Every day the elephants walk through the village down to the river to have a bath. The elephant keepers make sure each elephant gets wet and has a good clean.

The Elephant Orphanage is an amazing place to visit. The larger elephants are allowed to wander within the acreage, whilst the baby elephants are fed and taken care of.
